Heute geht es weiter zum nächsten Ziel. Auf dem Weg nach Quebec machen wir Zwischenstation in Kingston. Einem kleinen Städtchen an der Mündung des St. Lawrence Stroms in den Ontario See. Wir fahren kilometerlang über flaches Land, Wiesen, buschige Laubwälder, Ackerflächen und eine bolzengerade Autobahn. Landschaftlich gibt es nichts allzu spannendes zu entdecken, sie erinnert mich ein bisschen an da Rheintal zwischen Karlsruhe udn Mannheim 😉
Unser Hotel in Kingston liegt direkt am Highway und ist leicht zu finden. Kingston war in den Anfängen Hauptstadt von Kanada. Davon sieht man jetzt allerdings nicht mehr sehr viel. Es ist ein eher verschlafenes Städtchen am See. Wir lassen es heute gemütlich angehen. Auch zum Fotos machen habe ich keine so rechte Lust. Es gibt hier einige Straßenzüge mit den typischen historischen Wohnhäusern der Kanadier. Aber die Motive können mich nicht so recht zum Fotografieren verleiten.
Eigentlich hatten wir Dinner beim Cruisen auf dem Ontario geplant, aber leider sind die Plätze des einzigen Ausflugsschiffes schon komplett ausgebucht, bis wir allmählich daher kommen. Da suchen wir uns halt ein kleines nettes Lokal im Mexican Style und gönnen uns dort ein leckeres Abendessen.

Today we continue to the next destination. On the way to Quebec we stop in Kingston. A small town at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River into Lake Ontario. We drive for miles over flat land, meadows, bushy deciduous forests, arable land and a straight motorway. There is nothing too exciting to discover, it reminds me a bit of the Rhine valley between Karlsruhe and Mannheim 😉
Our hotel in Kingston is located directly on the highway and is easy to find. Kingston was in the beginning the capital of Canada. But you don’t see much of that anymore. It is a rather sleepy little town at the lake. Today we take it easy. I don’t feel like taking pictures either. There are some streets with the typical historical houses of the Canadians. But the motives can’t tempt me to take pictures.
Actually we had planned dinner while cruising on the Ontario, but unfortunately the places of the only excursion ship are already completely booked up, until we come along. So we look for a small nice restaurant in Mexican style and treat ourselves to a delicious dinner.
